Global One Health

The interconnected nature of human health within whole ecosystems is boosting the need for integrated approaches like One Health. It emphasizes the need for a paradigm shift from disease-specific interventions to holistic cross-cutting approaches coordinating with adjacent disciplines. The One Health approach exemplifies this shift, extending beyond a conventional model of zoonotic disease control to consider the interactions of human and animal health systems within their shared environment and the wider social and economic context. This group intends to work on risk estimation, mitigation, strategies with the principles of One Health to promote sustainability and resilience within the human-animal-ecosystems. The scope of focus will not be limited to the selected zoonotic and/or neglected tropical and/or vector-borne diseases with the dimensions of health risk assessment, surveillance, intersectoral collaborations for policy decisions.
